Favorite Books

**The Kingdom and the Crown series by Gerald Lund
One of my favorite series of all time. I feel like I am walking with Jesus in the Galilee and through the streets of ancient Jerusalem. I never feel uncomfortable when the Savior speaks because he only speaks words that we are familiar with in the Bible or simple things like being kind to a child. The center of the story is focused on fictional characters that interact with the known events of the gospels. The end notes are a treasure trove of research and stimulating thoughts.

**Ireland by Frank Delaney

**Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy

**Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

**Joan of Arc by Mark Twain

**The Real Thomas Jefferson by

**Elizabeth and Mary, Cousins, Rivals, Queens by Jane Dunn

**Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card

**How the Irish Saved Civilization by

**Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis
C.S. Lewis is brilliant at teaching about Christian truths. Having come from an atheistic point of view, he understands many of the challenges people have in logically accepting Christianity. Very deep reading. I often put the book down after only a paragraph or two to digest what I had just read. Transformational and well worth the effort.

**The Anne of Green Gables series all 8 books
These wonderful books were instrumental in helping me recover from years of depression. They paint such a free-spirited view of life while helping the reader remember the feeling of sunshine on your back, the first spring flowers and romantic walks in the woods. I laughed and cried with Anne as she learned about life, made mistakes and became a wonderful woman.

**At the Back of the Northwind by George MacDonald
I am currently reading this and loving it! The story is so quaint and peaceful and there is so much wonderful symbolism that I am reading it slowly to capture all the goodness I can from it.
